Davies -William b. 1857 at Morriston
Searching for William, son of William Davies and Caroline Suzannah Vivian. We have a postcard sent from Florence to his sister Hannah Cadogan - the photograph shows a prosperous-looking couple in St. Mark's Square in Venice, feeding pigeons. It was written in 1912 and signed from Willie and Nellie. On the 1871 census William was listed as a coal-miner. He certainly went up in the world. Did he marry well? Who was Nellie?

red mail The Jones' of Gelli Street Port Tennant
Does anyone remember my Auntie Ray (Rachel Jones) she was married to Bill Jones whom I can only remember seeing a couple times. She had a son called Harold. Auntie Ray lived for many years at 38 Gelli Street Port Tennant, she was a bit of a character, always game for laugh and there were many parties at her house, mainly due to the fact she had a piano. I have lovely memories of my auntie and the holidays I spent with her. The community spirit in Gelli Street was amazing, my first visit was when I just two weeks old and auntie disappeared for hours with me to show the neighbours. I made lots of friends in the street but remember fondly the Ali family at number 41, the daughter Amiena was about my age and there were several others but I can only remember her brother Tony (always called Anthony). There was a shop at the bottom of the street and a bakery at the top. Auntie died in 1968 but I would loved to hear from anyone who remembers her.

St Thomas Swansea
TUDOR, MORRIS, SELBY
Looking for information on, or descendants of, Mary (possibly Mary Jane) TUDOR, baptised at Whitchurch (Solva) near St David's on 16th July 1867, and Rachel Ann TUDOR, born at Solva c1867. Their parents were Charles TUDOR and Lettice nee THOMAS. Rachel married Morris MORRIS, a general labourer, at Swansea in the March 1891 quarter and Mary (Jane) married David Owen SELBY, a sailor born in Newport, in the September 1892 quarter. David and Mary had at least one child, Letitia Mary SELBY, born c1898, and a son, Llewellyn James SELBY, born and died in 1906. I believe that Letitia married William BOWEN at Swansea in 1922 and that there were at least four children, all daughters, of the marriage. I understand the sisters kept a shop of some sort at 135 Llangyfelach Street, Swansea and that Mary (Jane) died c1932 and Rachel c1945, and that Lettice may have lived with them in her later years and died in Swansea c1910. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone please?
