I am looking for my grandfather's brothers and sisters who lived in Cardiff and Penarth. Ethelind known as Lindy Houston married William Ward and they lived in Penarth. Can anyone help me? I can see from censuses up to 1911 other Houston family members lived in Cardiff.

Trying to trace Brotherton family who lived in Westbourne Road, Penarth during World war One. They came from Antwerp, Belgium and were in "Ship Chandler" business. Robert Brotherton had married Lisa Hooper, probably in Belgium. Her father George William Gower Hooper (b.1843)died in Penarth in 1916. His wife Aldegonda Hooper had died the previous year in Wiltshire, and they had fled Belgium at outbreak of war. Lisa's brother Richard (B.1874)died in London in 1917. Robert & Lisa had two children, George & Margaret. They may have returned to Belgium after 1918.

I would be interested in information about William Webber born in Dartmouth, Devon abt 1871 who married Sarah Jane Finch born in Quethiock, Cornwall abt 1871 in Melksham, Wiltshire abt 1890. They had a son called William Webber born in Melksham, Wiltshire abt 1891. The family then moved to Penarth, Wales and had another son called Allan Webber born in Penarth, Wales abt 1903. Any family details would be appreciated.

Does anyone have any information about William Hamlin, born in Cardiff 1875,lived in Abertillery with wife Mary and 7/8 children,died in Penarth Hospital( We believe one of his daughters lived in Penarth) Mary? Would like to know daughter's married name, and anyone who has info. about what happened to any of his children, and descendants. My husband is his son's son.

Searching for decendants John Edward Baker, born 27/07/1857, Sedgeley Staffordshire. Father was Williamborn Tamworth, Staffordshire 1824, youngest brother. Walter, Born Birmingham 1862, both became wellknown Photographers in Moselely, Birmingham, late 1890' - 1900 's. Another brother William Henry, born1854 was haidresser in Birmingham and Frederick Born 1859 (My Grandfather) was auctioneer, lastlyhis sister Clara Isobella, born 1851. John Edward in Birmingham married Harriett Cornish in 1879 andmoved to Cardiff, and later Penarth. 1891 and 1901 census, he is down as Henry Baker?. both he and his wife were hairdressers with several children. I believe they had a shop in Windsor Arcade, Penarth.

In 1877, Jonathan ANGOVE married Elizabeth Ann HAWKINS. Jonathan was the son of John Sowden ANGOVE and lived at 18 Salop Street. Elizabeth's father was James HAWKINS, a mariner, originally from Sussex, of Maughan Street. Jonathan died of Typhoid in 1878 and is buried in St Augustine’s church in Penarth. I would like to hear from any descendants of the ANGOVE family.

My Great Grandfather PETER THORNE was born in North Molton Devon on 18.08.1844, he married Ann Crang on 16.11.1865. Peters parents were William and Mary Thorne (nee Gould) Between then and 1871 they moved from North Molton to Glamorgan living in Canton, Llandaff, Cogan and Penarth their seven children were, Peter 1866, James Gould 1869, Elizabeth M 1871, Emily 1871, William Henry(1875 my grandfather), Frank 1878 and John Harry 1882. Elizabeth lived in Windsor Road Penarth and married William Ernest Avon. Peter died (1926) and Ann (1891)they are buried at St Augustines Church Penarth in a family grave. Peters brother Richard and wife Mary Ann also moved to Canton Penarth.
