red mail James Family
My gg grandparents George & Caroline Mary Ferrier James nee Owen lived in Taffs Well c1881 - 1891 according to Wales Census records but was probably longer. George was the Station Master during this time and six of their eight children were born in the house they lived in which was right by the train tracks between Taffs Well Station & Walnut Tree Viaduct. In the 1891 census they are listed as living at Springfield House in Cardiff Road but I've been unable to find any information on a house by this name or another house in a family photo that was named Sherwood but this may not have been in the Taffs Well village but somewhere nearby. Their children's names were Gertrude, Arthur, George, Percival, Florence, Edgar, Clement & Campbell. Two of their children, Gertrude & George, are buried at St Mary's, Whitchurch and my great grandfather Clement James emigrated to New Zealand in the 1920's with his wife Lillian and their three sons Ronald, Clement Jr & my grandfather Kenneth. I've got most of the census info but am really hoping to find more info on my gg grandfathers work history with the Taffs Vale Railway during this time and also school records & work history for their children...photo's would be real treasures!! George & Caroline moved to Cardiff some time between 1891 & 1903 as Caroline passed away in 1903 & George a few years later in 1906, his occupation listed as Accountant. Their death notices say they lived at Llanbleddian Gardens, Cardiff. If it's any help my gg grandfather George James' parents were Thomas & Elizabeth James nee Watkins and Thomas' parents were Thomas & Barbara James nee Rhys Living in New Zealand it's been hard to track my James' down so any help you can give me on any of the above ancestors would be gratefully received. Kind Regards Tracy

Jones Family
I am seeking any information on any past or present members of this family. My current information is that Elizabeth Jenkins, born in Treforest, Pontypridd in about 1853 married John Jones, born I believe in Llantwit Fardre around 1850. They had 11 children - Elizabeth Ann (1874) Thomas John (1876) David William (1872) Margaret (1878) Frances Morgan (1880) Edith May (1882) Mabel (1884) Decima (1888) Agnes (1892) Arthur (1893) and Reginald Glyn (1897). The 1901 Census shows that Elizabeth's mother, Ann Jenkins was also residing with the family. Ann died on 12th December 1906 at Glyn Cottage, Taffs Well. Elizabeth Jones (nee Jenkins) was one of 7 children from her father's (Thomas Jenkins) second marriage to Ann Thomas. There were also 4 siblings (half brothers & sister) from her father's first marriage to Hannah Evans. Elizabeth's brother Francis and mother Ann ran a post office in Glyntaff, Treforest, Pontypridd, circas 1885 - 1890 odd. If there are any relatives from any of this family I would be pleased to hear from them. Thank you.
