I am looking for any information on my Grandfather Moses Bevan b 1877 and his uncle Moses b 1857 both from Bridgend,But working in Dowlais before 1901 they were both Iron & Brass Moulders.And had a foundry in Bridgend for a number of years prior to 1901. Looking for contact/info on JONES family. Dau Jane b c1824 Tyllwyd near Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil married a REES. Had a son Henry b c1848/9. Son Thomas b c1819 was a grocer. I have found only some of the family on the census so cannot be too sure of the dates etc.

I have researched my O'neill family ancesters,they were in Dowlais from abt 1860.Most of them worked in the ironworks.In the late 1800's when the coal mines opened many of them went to work in the mines in the surrounding areas.I am happy to share my research with anyone researching the O'neill family.I have found many various spellings of the name,O'neil,Oniel,Oneal.There seems to be a lack of information about the irish workers in Dowlais.

Trying to trace relatives of my gg grandfather Richard Williams, he was born in Dowlais in 1843 and in latter years worked as a iron puddler. He married Jane (born 1842) and had five children. Phoebe - born 1865, Mary - born 1868, Rachel - born 1871, John - born 1874 and William Edward - born 1881. At the time William was born the family lived at Shop Row, Aberystruth. Hasw anyone any info on Jack (john Clifford) Flye who was born c. 1886 and married 1904. Lived in Dowlais (Francis St) then in Gwladys St, Caeracca. He married Susannah (I can't find nany info on her!) She had children from previopus marriage and they had our girls. One my mother who left to nurse in Birmingham in 1937.

I am seeking info on Elizabeth Ann Jones D.O.B. 11/06/1870 had a younger brother David Lewis Jones lived at 10 Sand Street Dowlais parents were David & Margaret Jones nee Evans.Margaret believed to have died young father then left the area leaving grandmother Letticia Evans to bring up children. Elizabeth Ann Jones left for America believed Philidelphia at a young age. David Lewis Jones ( my Grandfather) later lived at Pontlottyn Glamorganshire. Have recovered an old family photo believed Elizabeth and her husband (no names) taken at R.R.Strang address shown as, 2443 Kensington Ave, below the Dummy Depot, Philidelphia in possibly 1890's No other info anybody help please?

My Great Great Grandparents were Jonathan James and Rachel Abraham. They married in 1845 in Merthyr Tydfil. On the 1871 census they were living in Stoke on trent and their children were Lettis, Sarah, William, Ann, Mary, Watkin, John and Elizabeth. Elizabeth, the youngest, was my Great Grandmother who married George Henry Thomas when the James family moved to Middlesbrough. Any information on the ABRAHAM or JAMES family history in Wales would be appreciated.

Looking for details etc of the parents of WILLIAM DAVIES born c1820 and JANE DAVIES (nee Davies)born c1821 who married in Merthyr in 1842. Their fathers both came from GELLIGAER Parish on the marriage certificate and both happened to be called THOMAS DAVIES, one a collier, the other a butcher. A later census suggests William and Jane were born in Camarthen. Once married William and Jane lived in DOWLAIS. My gg grandfather was EVAN DAVIES born 1850 in Vaughans Field Dowlais. Later married an Eliza RICHARDS. They left Wales in 1880 going to Workington.
