red mail YOUNG
Hi Hope someone can help? The Young family, according to census and parish records lived in the Hanmer Parish right back to when records began in the 1500s. Although I've searched through many newsletters and forums I never have read the name Young coming up in any queries? I know there was a Young family from Croxton who are down on records as Misters and gents, not even sure if they are related to us but have never seen any mention of them? Anyone know anything? Thanks for reading!
red mail Carr - Hanmer / Halghton
Looking for any relative links for my grandmother, Edith Carr, who moved from Plas Devon Farm, Holt, to the Dukes Farm, Halghton in the early 1900's.
red mail Reeves-Hanmer
I am searching for any information regarding my great-great-great-grandfather Richard Reeves. His son William, a coal miner, born c. 1819 in HANMER, Flintshire/Cheshire, recorded in 1853 on his marriage certificate (William's second marriage)that his father Richard was deceased. I have no further information about Richard and would love to know more about him and about how it was possible for William to become a miner when he was born it what seems to have been an agricultural village quite some distance from the nearest mines. Mining at that time was a trade passed from father to son, and not a job that a young lad just waltzed into.
Trying to find my father's ancestors. The last piece of Whitfield ancestry that I have is that there was a Thomas Whitfield, born in Hamner,(a coachman)sometime. His son James(a bricklayer journeyman) was also born in Hamner in 1823. Any information about my Whitfield ancestors would be really welcome. Regards Patsy
