Ness Family - (Newton of Falkland - Fife)
Does anyone have the Ness family who lived in Falkland late 1800's. Robert Ness and Catherine Dowie ran a courier/coach service to and from Falkland. Christina Ness married James McCall 1890. Children were George, Robert, James, Archibald, Catherine, Ann, John and Elizabeth. Archibald was my grandfather. Thanks Lorraine

I am hoping the process of elimination may be able to help me, I have two birth entries for James Morris in 1819 in the Parish of Pittenweem (the parents of the first James are Robert Morris and Janet Lindsay; the parents of the second are Alexander Morris and Zenney Morris). According to the birth certificate of Agnes Campbell Morris born Bridgeton, Glasgow 1855 her father was James Morris, Ship Master born at Pittenween, he married Barbara Campbell in 1838, maybe someone out there is able to tell me which James Morris is the one that doesn't belong to my family tree.

John Beveridge was born around 1833 we think somewhere in Dunfermline and married Anne Falconer 12/1/1857 in Rumblingwell. We can find no Census records for them thereafter and no births attibuted to them. His occupation on his marriage entry is Coal Miner. The only references I can find is an assistant to the head of a church in Fife and another to a pauper patient at a Lunatic Asylum. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Cliff

HI am finding it hard to finf information on my grandmother. I have a marriage certificate for Ferry Port on Craig- 9/4/1909. She married my Grandfather Peter Harley. Her parents are listed as William Lawrie and Elizabeth (nee Murray). I know this is not aancient history but I can't progress on her line without a birthdate. She is listed as 18 at time of marriage so I was working back thinking she would be between 0 and 2 at 1891 census but failed to find anything that is close. Hoping I can get some help. Thanks

John McAndrew (1838-1892) - (Thornton - Fife)
John McAndrew was born in Collessie Parish, Fife in 1838, son of John McAndrew and Janet Honeyman. He was a linen weaver, then a ploughman. He married Ann Douglas Paterson in 1857; she died in 1875. He married a widow, Betsy Ross nee Davidson, in 1879. He died in Thornton, Markinch Parish, in 1892. He had lived in Thornton at least since 1881, working as a railway wagon inspector. More information, or communication with descendants, would be appreciated.

I'm looking for information about William Guy, a whaler born in Ireland around 1848 but who settled in Scotland and died in Woodhaven, Fife, on 6 July 1919. He was married twice, first to Jane Dodwell, in 1867 (they had two children, William Edward, born 1869, and Jane Ann, born 1871), and then to his first cousin Rosina Wilson, in 1880. My great grandmother, Jane Thompson, was sent to live with William and Rosina from Ireland and was present for the 1901 census. Does anyone know anything about his life, his ancestors or descendants?
