red mail Imrie, Kidd, Birrel and Melvil Families
I would like to know more about the life and times of these families in Fife. My 4 x greatgrandparents James IMRIE and Margaret KIDD emigrated to Australia from Markinch in 1849 with their daughters Margaret, Agnes, Elizabeth and Euphemia. I have a lot of information on the Australian decendants of the girls (they had 39 children between them!). James' father was David IMRIE (1780-1837), who I believe was a weaver in Markinch. His mother was Agnes MELVIL (1786-1849) from Markinch. James had 8 known siblings. Margaret KIDD's parents were George KIDD(1769-1849) and Delia BIRREL (1763-1849), who married in Ceres in 1791. Margaret had 6 siblings. Other names connected in previous generations are:FORRET, BELL, SCOT & STIRK. I will be visiting Fife in August 2010 and I would love to make connect with other decendants who still live in the area, or who can provide me with any family stories. Thank you so much.

Andrew was born in Wemyss, but all the other children were born in Markinch. William married Elizabeth Brown Dunsire in Buckhaven in 1890. Thomas married Janet Steele in Edinburgh in 1899. Cecilia B. married Robert Todd in 1907 in Methil. I would love to contact cousins from this family.
