red mail Sullins in Stapleford Abbot and Navestock - (Stapleford Abbot - Essex)
My ggg grandfather John Sullins was a coachman who claimed to have been born in either Stapleford or Navestock about 1808. He married Mary Ann (Unknown) from Dorset, and worked in Marylebone from 1851 or earlier, but can find nothing about him earlier than this. He died in the Paddington Workhouse in 1883. In the 1871 census a John Scullings, who I believe is the same person, was a widower living in the same house as a George Sullings, who was born in Marylebone in 1851, son of a Thomas Sullins from Stratford, Essex. The similarity in surnames suggests they may have been related, but I have found no links. I have also found a family headed by another John Sullins who all lived in Navestock. This John was born in about 1780, so could have been the other John's father, but again no proof. Help would be appreciated - more details on request.
