George Wells
I am looking for any information on a George and Caroline Wells who lived in Cowslip Rd, Woodford with their son George (2years old) in the 1881 census. It is noted that they had 2 lodgers , Frederick and Christianna Abbott living with them. Frederick was the founder of our town in New Zealand (Waipawa) . It is possible that I have the wrong Woodford but I presume the Cowslip Rd may confirm or deny. Thanks for any info, Michael

William Edge Percy Webster

red mail George Stanley Pope
George Stanley Pope (1889 Hackney-1925 Woodford Green) died aged 36, he was a schoolmaster and lived in Oak Hill Gardens, when he died. He was married in 1921 to my grandmother, Edith Jessie Kennedy. In 1927 she remarried to Frederick Ingram Wagstaff. I would be interested to link with the family of Pope to find out more about George. His parents were George and Charlotte Pope, his sister Charlotte witnessed his wedding. He lived in Hackney until 1921 in census listings. He might have had an interest in science and natural history and or music.
