I have traced William Felstead Lord back to Saffron -Walden. He married Anna Matilda Francis in London april 1 1839. Her father was Thomas James Francis. I you have any information about either the Lords or the Francises I would like to hear from you. Her family was supposed to be wealthy. Heirs to something called the Ferguson Estate? She had a brother named James Francis? I am just trying to verify the old family legend about the rich girl that married the poor man and was disinherited?

George and Sarah Saville Saffron Walden I am researching George and Sarah Saville who died in Saffron Walden in 1840, possibly the parents of Joseph Michael Saville 13 yrs who appeared in the 1841 Census in Radwinter living with a family called Jepps (Gypps?). Also looking at George Saville who was convicted in Saffron Walden on 15 Jan 1830 and transported on the Burrell 1 to New South Wales Australia arriving Port Jackson Dec 18 1830. I am looking for family who lived in Saffron Walden. John Felix Goddard who was a cinematographer and also an electrician. He married Ethel Phillips in 1912 at Walthamstow, Essex. They had one known child, a daughter, Ethel Joyce Goddard who I believe was known as Joyce. She was born in 1914, Saffron Walden and baptised at St Mary's church. The would have still been there when Joyce was a young woman - about 20ish as we have a family photo of her and I believe she lived there. Joyce married Leonard A Rayment.

I would be interested in any information on the Salmon Family living at 31 Bridge Street from about 1880. The head of the family was James Salmon and his wife was Sarah Salmon (nee Wright). I believe they were a very devout religious family, possibly of an evangelical branch of Christianity. I wonder if there were many people in Saffron Walden at that time who were similarly religious and, if so, whether there was a religious movement particularly connected with Saffron Walden. Emma Samuels was born in Saffron Walden in c1839. Her father was John Samuels and her mother Mary. John was a harness maker in the Butter Market in Saffron Walden. She married John Hulme in London in 1868 and had two children Frederick b1871 and George b1873. I would like to find out about the Samuels family (sometimes spelt Samuel).

Born Saffron Walden around 1825, father George. Moved to St Geo Han Sq.Brompton, Have traced him from 1861 on but cannot go further back. Wed Emma Chapman circa 1845 circa 1861-5 he married his 2nd wife Elizabeth Collison nee Dobinson. Anyone come across him in Saffron Walden? Any help would be much appreciated.
