red mail Lucy Barefoot
Looking for information on Lucy (Louisa) Barefoot who married Robert Horlock in 1798 at St Leonard's Shoreditch, they lived in Rettendon. She was living in Rettendon before her marriage and had two illegitimate children there, Robert Barefoot in 1794 and Henry Barefoot in 1796. Henry was certainly fathered by Robert Horlock and acknowledged in his will. Robert was almost certainly also Robert Horlock's child but died young. Lucy died in Steeple Essex in 1848. I know nothing about her parentage.

Elizabeth Sarah Bright was born at Rettendon circa 1827. She married Joseph Prentice of Rawreth, my husband's grandfather, in 1846 and they had five or six children. Her parents were William and Charlotte and records show that the Brights were a large family spread over several parishes, principly Rettendon and Woodham Ferris. Are there any Brights or Prentices still living in the area? If so we would love to here fom them to compare notes on our family history.
