red mail Joseph Michael Saville's Dad
I am looking for George Saville(spouse Sarah?) who was the father of Joseph Michael Saville born c1830 in Romford. In 1841 Joseph was listed in the census as living in RADWINTER aged 13 (?)with a family called Jepps (Gypps?)- no sign of parents. In 1851 the Radwinter Parish assisted Joseph, and Thomas Bridgeman, apparently a relative, to migrate to New South Wales. Did George and Sarah die or what else happened to them? A convict called George Saville arrived in NSW on the Burrell 1 from England in 1830 as a convict. Immigration List states George Saville 28 years was a protestant and single, could neither read nor write, a ploughman who could reap, plough and sow, offence obtaining goods falsely, was tried in Essex on 15 January 1830, former conviction none (or nine?), 5ft 8 1/2, ruddy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, had a slight diagonal scar near his right temple. 'How disposed of: Roads Special Order'. Burrell 1 arrived in Port Jackson from Plymouth on 18th December 1830 with 189 male English convicts aboard. William West MD was surgeon and only one person died on the voyage. It was only 12 months between George's sentence and his arrival in Australia. Was this my George?
