I have Elizabeth YOUNGS born circa 1789 in Manningtree who married Robert ABLETT in 1806. Robert was from Capel St. Mary and as far as I know this couple did not have children. Other names linked on both death certificates show Susannah POOL was the informant but I have not found a family connection. Can anyone throw light on Elizabeth YOUNGS parents. Thanks.

I am researching my family name SAUNDERS in Manningtree/Mistley Essex. Most of them were Fishermen. My grandparents Harry and Getrude Saunders lived at No 3 Alma Square, Manningtree. The cottage is still there today. I would like to know the history of Alma Square as there are only 3 or 4 cottages left. When was it built? Were they thatched? Other family names are NOTLEY, RYCROFT, DEVONSHIRE, BLAXALL, TAYLOR, BANES. I particularly want to find the birth of a Jonathan SAUNDERS in 1779 and his marriage to Elizabeth ? a Nurse born in Colchester. Any local history information on Manningtree and surrounding areas would be much apppreciated. Jack and Walter NOTLEY, my father's cousins owned and ran the Bakery at 1 James Terrace, Mistley. It is still there today as a private dwellinghouse.
