Trying to trace family of Mary Milbourne, born about 1800, died 1838 in North Shoebury, wife of Thomas Battram. There are lots of Milbournes in Great Wakering and surrounding areas who I think must be related to her but unable to make the link. I have been unable to trace a baptism for her in Great or Little Wakering or North or South Shoebury.

Would be interested to hear from anyone with French family in their tree from Great or Little Wakering or Shoebury. My great great grandfather Samuel French was born in Little Wakering in 1817, married Hannah Maria Battram in 1841 in North Shoebury. Lived variously in Great Wakering, South Benfleet and Thundersley. Died in 1873 at Benfleet. Father was Daniel and mother Mary (nee Hitchcock) . Siblings were William, Phillip, Martha, Daniel and John. There are several families of Frenchs in Gt Wakering area - not sure if they are related but think they probably are.

William Gusterson Holmes (b. 1847) married Caroline French (b 1848) in 1869 at Hadleigh. They lived in Gt Wakering - had children Ada, Caroline, Eliza, Emanuel, Ernest, Frederick, Israel, Maud, Percy, Wilfred,William. William's aunt Susan ran a pub there with her husband Daniel Bradley and William was brought up there after his mother Sarah died of cholera.
