red mail Bird Family, Forest Gate
In 1901 my grandmother, Alice Jane Mimms, gave birth to a daughter called Alice Cecilia. Two years later, she gave birth to another daughter. Shortly afterwards the father deserted the family and the mother was left penniless. She could not feed both of her children and Alice Cecilia was 'given away'. I know that this daughter later married William Bird of Forest Gate in 1923. I would love to know if this marriage bore fruit and whether Alice Cecilia's descendants can tell me anything about her.
