Witton Le Wear, New Inn. Thomas Smith senior occupation (engineman) deceased between 1847 and 1856 and Ann Smith (Kirkley) remarried a John McMillan (occupation seaman) in Hartlepool in 1857 and moved to Greenock, Scotland where they had a family and remained. Thomas jnr. appears in Greenock on his marriage certificate to Agnes Hendry Kerr where they moved to Edinburgh and had a family and Thomas Smith was by then an established watchmaker. Need to find him between his birth in Bishop Auckland 1847 and 1870? Has anyone come across him on any of Durham census?
