red mail Thomas Derbyshire born 1853
My great grandfather(above) lived with his family at both 31 and 35 Dale Street, Westoe in 1891. He was born in St Helens, Lancashire as was my grandmother, his eldest daughter, Mary Gertrude. Thomas had six children who were named Mary Gertrude, Wifred(Joseph), Francis, James, Cecilia and Owen. Thomas Derbyshire was a widower in 1901 and eventually emigrated with his eldest son to Canada I believe. Can anyone remember them or are there any relatives of these people still living in the area? If so I would love to hear from you. I am researching my maternal family line and the relatives of my beloved grandmother, Mary Gertrude - fondly known as 'Gertie'.
