I am interested in any information regarding the Cooper and Heron families of Heworth in Durham, in the period 1911 to the present day. I am researching for a friend now living in America, who is a direct descendant of Mary Ellen Heron born in 1899 on the 15th of January, in the Gateshead Union Workhouse. Edward and Isabella had 4 children all baptised at St Mary's Church. Elizabeth 1822, Robert 1825, William 1828 and Mary Isabella 1833. Edward died and possibly buried in Heworth October 1852 In 1851 living in High Lane. Wanting information re address in 1841 census or any other relevant information about them.

Any information on Maddigans born in Heworth would be appreciated. My gt grandfather John Maddigan was born there in around 1852. His son John (my grandfather) and siblings Daniel, George, Patrick, Annie, Hannah & Catherine (Kitty) were also born there. Hannah and Kitty were both living at the Felling until at least the 1960's, but I have no idea what happened to the rest of the family, apart from Daniel who died in 1905. James Cutter, born 1774, Heworth, County Durham and Mary Robson, born 1778, Heworth, County Durham were married on 21/10/1798 at Chester-le-Street, County Durham, England, and they had at least six children. The family then moved to Heworth, about 1802. John (my gggranfather) being christened on 22/5/1803 at Heworth (possibly at St Mary's Church). Any help in finding the names and birth dates of John's siblings would be greatly appreciated.

My Smith family moved around Heworth for many years. Robson Smith was a miner and he and his wife Jane Bridgewood feature on the 1881 census in Heworth. they had 8 children and many stayed in the area, most of the lads were also miners. I am alwaysinterested in Smiths in Heworth and Felling.

I am descended from Robert and Dinah Dine, and their son Richard Harris Dine. They were all born in Sussex, but sometime between 1866 and 1872 the Dine family moved up to Heworth, County Durham. The 1881 census has Robert and Dinah Dine living at High Level, Heworth, with their three sons, Robert Harris Dine, Frank Thomas Dine and Thomas Dine. I would be interested to hear from any relatives.
