I have a copy of a marriage by Banns for Anthony (Ralph) Blackett Charlton and Mary Ann Bainbridge dated Sept 30, 1844 in the parish of Whickham in the County of Durham. Fathers names are Edward Charlton (Sailor) and John Bainbridge (Keelman). Harry and Jane Bainbridge were the witnesses. I have since found that Edward married Elizabeth Blackett in 1810. Anthony had a son Edward (born 1852 in Gateshead, Whickham, Durham) who sailed to Canada shortly after his marriage to Mary Scafe Thirlaway in (1875). Looking for details of the family of Arthur Victor Werving and his wife Sarah, nee Brooks. He was a sailor from Sweden, she my great grandmother's sister. I believe the Millens were in Newcastle early 1800s, and then moved to Gateshead. Two Samuels cover the period 1820 to 1920 and John Isaac lived from 1879 to 1930. They were confectioners and had or were employed by a business in Oakwellgate, Gateshead at least until 1930. I have been told that their trademark was "Lucky Cross Sweets".

I am looking for further information on my gt gt grandfather Isaac Bartholomew Crofton. The information I have is that he was born or christened in Gateshead in 1834. He married a Mary Ann Robson in 1858 and worked as a Chain Maker. They lived in Hood or Wood Row in Elswick and then Dunn Street, Elswick, Newcastle Upon Tyne. I'm looking for information about Thomas Thompson born 17/10/1845 in the village of Whitewell, Parish of Kelloe, County Durham. His father was Thomas Thompson born circa 1800, and his mother was Sarah Fairless.Thomas (of Whitewell) married twice, firstly Isabella Irwin, and then Eleanor Francis Wade. There was one child by the first marriage, and eight by the second. Thomas died 06/04/1910. He was a mining enginner. The family had connections with a mineral water company in Gateshead, and owned houses in Gateshead, which were rented out.They also were members of a Primative Methodist Chapel in Gateshead, where I believe Thomas played the organ. my gr.grandfather, william howe was living with his wife lucy frost howe, and their children, in gateshead, in the 1881 census. he was a recorder of b.d.m for his area. they were gone by 1891.I haven't found them again in that census, though the family was still in the area in 1947 when my father married my mother in australia.His parents lived at north rd, east boldon.
