Trying to find my grandfather John William CARR b.1871 in Quarrington Hill, Coxhoe. Parents Jonathan CARR and Dorothy HARRISON m.1845. Found his family in the 1871 census, and him in 1881 and 1911 census. He married Maria Ellen KEAR/NELSON in 1908. I can't find him in the 1891 and 1901 census. Was he in the army or overseas I wonder? He died in 1919.

Ann Edwards born 1872in Coxhoe,daughter of Sarah Edwards nee Wood,and Joseph Edwards.On the 1881 census she was with her grandparents Mary & Robert Wood living at 37 Califonia Street,New Seaham,Co.Durham.Sarah married my G.Grandfather William Sanderson in Coxhoe in 1875 in the Parish church.Any information on Ann,Sarah or William wouild be great as I can find nothing at the moment after my grandfathers birth in 1877

Looking to find detail of my father Robert OLIVER 9 Nov 1913, may have been adopted and may have been born with different surname. Baptism record (11 Jan 1919) found which shows name as Robert "SOARS or SCARR or SCARS" parents names Robert & Mary. Lived in Coxhoe and started school there in 1921. Later in Army and lived in Gateshead / Heworth /Felling until his death on 22 Mar 1966. The person that I thinks is my grandfather was born in Pelton Fell on 9 Feb 1868 and married on 10 May 1890 to Anne (Cooper) at West Rainton, Co Durham. They had a child Jane born 29 May 1891. His second marriage was on 24 Aug 1903 to Sarah Ellen (Merchant) nee Neasham at Denaby Moor, near Doncaster, they had a child Richard born 1905 in Pontefract Any help appreciated Owen OLIVER

I would like to share information with anyone working on these families in Durham (Coxhoe, Sunniside). Robert Moore (b 1828) & wife Ann & daughter Ellen. John Brown b, abt 1846, parents possibly John and Penelope Brown. John Brown (Jr) m. Ellen Moore and emigrated to USA. I have census data but nothing else.

Please can you help? I am looking for any information on the field family in Coxhoe. William Field born 1800 in Dewsbury had 3 sons, William b1821, Francis b1823 and George. They moved to Coxhoe abt 1838 and started a brickworks near Cow Close. William the son died quite young in 1866 & there was an inquest. Francis later moved to Brandon Colliery & his wife was Harriet Carr. Very grateful for any infomation. Many Thanks.

Coxhoe Township Kelloe
Does anyone know of a Robert Potts born 1874 in Kelloe and his wife Isabella Hall born 1876 in Burnhope. They lived in a miners home, row 115. In the 1901 census they had a daughter Ellen and later had Phylis, David and Isabella.
