red mail James McBride (born Ireland c. 1845). Moved to Blaydon.
My great grandfather James McBride was born in 1845 (according to English 1871, 1891 & 1901 censuses, somewhere in Ireland). I'd love to know where he actually came from. There might be a Scottish Arran connection too. He married Alice McGurk (born Swalwell, daughter of Francis & Irish-born Bridget). Their children included John T., Robert, Jane, Bridget, Thomas, Francis and Richard William McBride. Their eldest son, (James Lewis McBride) was my grandfather who married Mary Walsh (his second wife). Mary's parents were Galway-born Patrick Walsh and Blaydon-born Elizabeth King. Elizabeth's parents were William King, a Manchester-born glass-blower and bottle maker, and her mother was William's second wife - the widow Mary Anne Corrin (nee Caffery) who was Irish-born. My father was 'Billy' McBride and his siblings (& half-siblings) included Jimmy, Dorrie, Zeta, Bart, Molly, Joe and Alice McBride, all born in Blaydon, England. Any information to share? Please get in touch.
