The 1861 Scotland Census shows my 2 G Uncle, Peter MCKIE (b. Dindinnie, Leswalt, Wigtonshire, 1834), working as a riveter, and living in Dunbarton with his wife, Helen McBryde TORRANCE (b. Port Logan, Wigtonshire, 1835), and their children Margaret, William and Mary. Then the family vanishes: no more census entries, no death registrations. I believe they emigrated; but where did they go? Would much like to contact, and share information with, anyone descended from Peter or researching the McKie family. Valentine
