Searching for information about James Aitken and his wife Emily who lived at Burtonhill. James was apparently born c1826 in Dundee and he had a sister, Margaret and his father's name was Alexander. He was married twice, the second time in 1869 to Emily Hill in Devizes, Wiltshire He was a Shipbroker and owner in Glasgow and, with James Lilburn, formed the Glasgow Shipping Co (the Loch Line) in 1870. He died in May 1900. Any information gratefully received

I am looking for the Howie family with three generations of doctors who graduated from Univ. of Glasgow. I would like to find the eldest Dr. Alexander Howie's (b. c.1808) parents or siblings( m. Agnes Holms in 1828); his son was Dr. James Holms Howie who died at 29yrs with 3 sons: another Dr. Alexander Howie who married Janet Rutherford, James Stevenson Howie, William Holms Howie. Their mother, Mary Barclay Stevenson, raised them alone with the help of her brother, John Stevenson, of Auchinames Farm Kilbarchan. Any help would be most appreciated.

Seeking any relatives still living in Helensburgh or elsewhere related to John Wyllie born Helensburgh 1887 he married Isabella MacPherson from Fortingall in Hel. in 1907. John's parents were Robert James Wyllie born in 1860 in Paisley and Mary MacPherson born in 1863 in Hel. they had children James, Bertie, John, Kate and Sissie. Isabella and John emigrated to Australia in 1911 on the Gothic with their small son Ian, would love more info, I'm a grandaughter of John and Isabella.

Am looking for information on the descenadants of Agnes Orr (ne Robertson), who was reported in the 1901 Census as residing in Helensburgh with children Agnes R, James R, John M and Margaret M. Agnes died at Helensbugh Station in 1914. Agnes's husband was William Veitch Orr who died in Glasgow in 1892. William was the grandson of William Veitch and Jean Brodie of Lochwinnoch.

I am searching for information on John Stirling (place and date of birth unk.) From info. I have he married twice, firstly to a Margaret Govan and secondly to a Janet McAuslan. Issue from the 1st. marr. were William b.c 1815, Margaret and John. The 2nd. marr. 30 April 1832 at Helensburgh produced my g-grandmother Catherine Stirling b.c.1833. John Stirling was a stone mason as was his first son William. John Stirling died at Helensburgh 14 Jan. 1834. Catherine Stirling marr. James Scott at Barony 28 May 1854 and they eventually emigrated to Australia. Any info. would be appreciated.
