red mail Balston family Dorset
Has anyone got any info on this family. I am particularly interested in Ann Balston who would have been born in the 1820's (LDS have one born in Poole in 1824 but I am not sure if it is the same person). She may have been the aunt of Kate Balston born c 1855 in Weymouth, Walter b c1858, Sidney b c1860, Thomas b c1862, James b c1870, all born in Weymouth and living there 1871 (can't make out the address 2 Albeck Lodge?). Ann married John Messenger Lake q3 1847 in Weymouth and they had a son born shortly afterwards, possibly registered in Dorchester. There is a record of the death of an Ann Lake (as she would have become) in Dorchester q1 1851 so she would have just missed the census (but is it the same person?). Son Walter was living with his wife and his 2 young sons, it appears in the same dwelling in Weymouth mentioned above with the Balston family.

red mail The Davage family
I am researching the Davages of Dorset, particularly Weymouth. They also have a connection to the Whittle family (also of Dorset) who apparently owned Fleet House in Weymouth. Again, not sure I really believe this either. Thanks

red mail Scattered Leaves & Tangled Weymouth branches
since last visiting this site, it is interesting how many additional name connections that I could add. Looking back through the White - Brown family of Wyke Regis, how many branches are there with Thomas White and Anne Charlotte Bellamy. In Weymouth, we can visit Trinity, Hope & Cove Row but look again after awhile and another citizen that we overlooked on our last visit is likely connected to one or more of our tangled branches & scattered leaves. I began my Weymouth journey with Zelley, then quickly got a Lovell, White and Bellamy. Then slowly gathering more names such as Mabb, Vallens, Baker. Fast forward and we can connect to the children of a David Gray, or a Pearce, Flisher or a Randall and Purchase. Then circle back for a Noble and a Silvester.

I think he was an Oxford Don but I cannot be sure. It is unlikely that she is now living in Weymouth. Elizabeth was my first love.
