red mail Mullett in Milton Abbas
Robert or Robin Mullett lived in Milton Abbas between 1742 and 1754. His children were all baptized there: Isaac in 1742, Betty in 1744, Jacob in 1745, Robert in 1747, Mary in 1748, John in 1749, Priscilla in 1751, James in 1752, and Benjamin in 1754. His wife was Elizabeth Gibbons. The original town was raised and rebuilt shortly after the children were born. James, my ancestor, was kidnapped and pressed into the King's military after completing an apprenticeship in London to become a tailor. He was sent to America where he remained after the Revolution. Does anyone know anything about the rest of this family or where they went when Milton Abbas was reconstructed?

red mail Guy family, also White & Matcham
There are a lot of Guy's who lived in Milton Abbas. James Guy born in 1816 but I don't think his father came from the village. James married Jane Elizabeth White and had four sons and a daughter. His son Albert James was my great grandfather. Albert married Eliza Jane Matcham and there are several Matchams also living in the village. i would be interested in any connections that folk may have from these names. In the 1950's someone from the US was trying to trace the Guy family and wrote to my grandmother, Suzanne Florence Cornez Guy, then married to Stephen Roberts. I would love to know more of the US connection to the Guys too.
