George Legg b. 1803 in Cowes, Isle of Wight, married first Susanna Shilson on 30 Jul 1828 in Melcombe Regis. George was a mariner and moved quite a bit. They were also Wesleyan-Methodist. They had two children - George Legg and Richard Harry Legg of whom I am descended. However, Susanna died 13 Aug 1839 in S. Bersted, Sussex. It seems that George then returned to Melcombe Regis and married her sister, Jane, Chr. 31 May 1818 in Melcombe Regis. They were married 10 Dec 1839 in St. Marys, Portsea, Hampshire. They had one child, Susannah, b. 1840 in S. Bersted, who only lived until she was 9. Jane died 21 May 1865 in S. Bersted.
