Info on Seward families from Iwerne Courtney, 1780s
Baptism at Iwerne Courtney, 20 OCT 1789 : Henry son of Henry & Susannah Seaward. Another son, Thomas, born to same parents was baptised at Iwerne Courtney 24 AUG 1794. I want to find out if these are my ancestors. My ancestor, Henry Seward who lived in Plymouth, wasn't born there. Henry's place of birth is given as Plymouth on 1851 census but this is very unlikely and census info was given by a third party. There is no baptism found for him in the area and in 1841 he himself gave 'not born in county'. Further, a relative (surname of Short) living at same address in 1851 was born at Blandford, Dorset which strengthens the case for Henry himself to be from the area. Does anyone have any info on these familes please?
