Thomas TUTCHER married Susan STEVENS in Membury, Devon, on 18 Jun 1831. Susan was the daughter of Henry STEVENS and Jane TROTT, who lived near Membury. Susan's sister, Elizabth STEVENS married Robert N. Hoare Parris at Chardstock on 3 Oct 1820. Susan's sister, Mary Jane STEVENS married William Henry Wiscombe at Membury on 5 Aug 1841. Thomas TUTCHER was most likely the son of Thomas TUTCHER and Mary BERE of Combe St. Nicholas. I would like to correspond with others researching these families.

red mail William Lee, tailor
William Lee was born around 1784, married Hannah Gardener in Membury 1808, widowed 1816, remarried to Thomasine Chamberlain, died in Membury 1840. No baptism record exists at Membury. Other clues: the family profession of tailors, his first son's name John, village muster roll of 1803 that shows a "William Lee Jr" living in a house with a John Lee and (?next door) to a family headed by a William Lee with an elderly Liddy Lee = Lydia, a name passed down to William's children. Has anybody seen a baptism for William Lee, or have any other clues who his parents were? In general, I'd also like to hear from anybody who is researching the Lee family of Membury, Chard, or Somerton. George
red mail Mitchell, Stevens
Trying to nail down the Stephen Mitchell who married Alice Stevens in Axminster in 1780. They were the parents of Hannah Mitchel b.1781. Have 1729-1815, son of John and Thomasin, or possibly 1751 or 1754. There is also a Stephen who married a Betty/Elizth/Elizabeth Lombard/Lumbert. Anyone else studying the Membury Mitchells? On marriage in Axminster Stephen described as sojourner.
