Am looking for details regarding William and Sarah HUNT SPRINGTHORPE, married 1828, sons John SPRINGTHORPE (b.1829), Robert SPRINGTHORPE (b. 1836). Sarah died at Basford Union House in 1839. Robert was at Basford Union House in 1841 Census, and with his uncle, John HUNT, in 1851. Haven't found record of John in 1841 Census. Robert married a Mary PEARSON of Radford. Robert may have been born out of wedlock: William may have died in 1834. Robert's marriage certificate claims his father's name was William PEAT. This gets more and more interesting...Thank you.

I have a photo of Eli with the words " Eli Hunt Hepthorne Lane" written on the back. I came across this whilst looking through my late grandma's belongings. I have no family tree connections (yet) with the Hunt's. I have done a little research into him and found him in Chesterfield Workhouse on the 1911 census where he is shown to be married and that his occupation was coal cutting machinist below ground.He died in an underground mining accident at Oxcroft Colliery. Is anyone interested in him or his photo?

I am researching the William (b1807) and Charlotte (b1806) Harrison family of Holbrook. In the 1841 ,1861 and 1881 census he is a farmer living at Holbrook. His family consists of John (b1831) Mary (b 1833) Rodger (b1834) Catherine (b 1839) Henry William (b1845) Elizabeth (b1847) and Charlotte (b 1850). I am interested in particular in Catherine who married Robert Gowland in Thirsk Yorkshire in 1865. Catherine died in1875 leaving two children Roger and Kate. Robert remarried Rebecca Stanhope (b1839 at Crich) and emigrated with the children to Maryborough Queensland Australia in 1878. Kate was my wife's ggrandmother. Details as follows: Henry SHIPLEY who departed this life February 13th 1908 in his 71st year. My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Looking for any information on George Edward Marsden, millwright, who arrived in the Holloway area shortly after his marriage to Frances Moorcroft of Brewood, Staffordshire. They had 3 sons there, between 1820 - 1824 after which George disappears, his pregnant widow returns to Brewood with her young sons and their 4th child, a daughter, is born there in 1825. Their sons were named Joseph, Frederick & William and their only daughter was named Frances. We have traced all four children onwards from this point, but does anyone know what became of their father George?

I am looking for anyone who may know something about my Grandmother, Elizabeth Naden, born 27th June 1883 at Carrington's Cottages, Wormhill, Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire. Her parents were George Naden and Elizabeth Fearn, married about 1868 in St Michaels, Earl Sterndale, Bakewell, Derbyshire. George was an Engine Driver at the Lime Works. I understand that she had many Naden siblings, Mary, Harriett, George William, Nancy, Rebecca, Florence, Annie, Sarah Ellen and Harry Naden. She married my grandfather, Arnold Egerton Garside, on 27th February 1907, at the Primitive Methodist Chapel. Cote Heath, London Rd, Buxton, Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire. They lived at Ivydene, Lightwood Road, Fairfield, Buxton, Derbyshire and he was an Engine Fitter. By 1913 they moved to Devon Avenue, Withington, Manchester. I have a small Beatitudes book that used to belong to my Grandmother, Elizabeth Naden, when she went to Kings Sterndale Sunday School as a young girl. I would be so grateful if this request could be put into the hands of someone who may have known the Naden family, or someone from a Family History Society who would have some contacts.

Elizabeth Toone married Anthony Pulsford in 1823 at Derby (St Werkmund) and their daughter Mary (born c 1832) is my ancestress. Was Elizabeth the daughter of James Toon who married Elizabeth Mill or Mills on 13 September 1789 in Melbourne? James died 3 May 1885 aged 81, his wife Elizabeth died 3 April 1884 aged 71, both buried Melbourne. According to the Melbourne Baptist Chapel Registers (RG4 945), a Thomas Toon (born c 1796, a butcher) married 1819 Elizabeth daughter of William Sylvester and Ann. Thomas and Elizabeth Toon had Thomas (1820 - 1899), Ann 1826 and William 1832. Any information welcome.

Hi from Australia Searching my paternal grandmother Sarah Jane Clark b 1876 Brierly Hill Staffs Married William Moore 1897 Kirk Hallam. And her sisters, Catherine (Kate) Mary Clark b 1875 Derbyshire married Wilfred Pepper 1894 Shardlow, Hannah Rosilie Clark b 1880 Smethwick married William Henry Harris 1902 Sheffield, and Eva May Clark b 1884 Stapleford Married Thomas Bower 1904 Derby. Desperate to locate any decendants as Sarah Jane died young leaving a large family that knew very little of their mother, and nothing is known of the Clark side of the family. The Clarks girls father was a Thomas Clark b 1844 in Derby the mother was a Sarah Ann Henrick b 1846 Middlesex Thomas was a moulder who moved his family to Kirk Hallam from Staffordshire (probably for work) Sarah Janes Husband William Moore comes drom a long line of Moore's from the Wilne, Chaddersden,Dale area, they had several addresses in the area. Williams father was Fredeick Moore b 1829 at Draycott, his mother was Ann Daniels b 1830 at Billborough, they married in 1852 at Chaddersden. William's family eventualy moved to South Yorkshire to find work in the coalm mines. I would appreiciate any help.

My Grandparents were Thomas and Emma Mather(Emma was nee Twigg from Parwich) . Thomas's mother was Esther (nee Mellor) and kept the postoffice in the early part of 1900's she was also a dressmakeer.I had several uncles who had prominent positions in the village ie wheelwright, blacksmiths. Esther's husband William was the postmaster. My mother was Annie Elizabeth Mather (1911-2002). She was friendly with the Mellors of Kniveton (her cousins?)and also Unwins and Bill Beard wheelwright. Can anyone remember any of the family? My uncle Raymond Mather lived at the family home of Croftdene until his move to Ashbourne a few years ago with wife Dora. Gwen

George was the son of Robert Milward and Ann Wilson, born Cubley 1815 They had 5 children all born in Cubley I believe; Mary Ann bapt 22nd Oct 1836; John 15th May 1838; Thomas 23rd May 1841; George 3rd Sept 1843; Alfred 25 March 1845. Dorothy died in 1848 and George Milward married a 2nd time to Anne Wright and had a further 7 children; all bapt in Cubley; Edwin 12th Oct 1851; Robert same day; Samuel 29th Dec 1853; William 1st May 1856; Frederic 10th Jan 1858; Thomas 23rd Sept 1859; Joseph 9 Jan 1865. Paul (1823-1895)moved with his family around Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire doing various jobs but mainly mining. He was an Inn Keeper at the Bulls Head Little Hallam at one time. Father was Joseph and children included Etty and Randal! Places where they have been found include Eastwood, Notts; Loscoe, Derbys; Normanton, Yorks; Any info welcome. Isabel

His wife was Georgiana Mee born abt 1807 at Loscoe. She had a sister Elizabeth who lived with them. Elizxabeth was deaf & dumb according to one Census. Longley, Coxon - (Ludworth - Derbyshire)
William Longley was born at Newbiggin, Westmorland about 1802. He was a Tailor at Compstall Bridge in 1835, and at Compstall Rd, Ludworth in the 1841, with his wife Esther (nee Coxon) and children. He finally moved to Hyde where he died in 1880. His daughter Louisa married Peter Sykes of Compstall (later of Hyde).
