I'm researching the family of Bertha Rumley born 1878 in Pinxton, to Charles Rumley and Mary Ball. I believe she married an Irishman, William Henry Garvey in 1895 and they had a son William Leslie born in 1902. Does anyone have any more information about this family? Thanks.

Is there anyone with information concerning the Isaac Malbon family.He lived for many years in Pinxton with a woman by the name of Elizabeth Goodacre.Her maiden name was either Mellors or Mallins.He married Elizabeth Goodacre in 1951. Mentioned on the marriage certificate was a James W Shooter. I believe he died in 1954. There was also a Fanny Malbon who married a George Berrisford in 1921.Fanny died in 1957 aged 58. I believe this George Berrisford was a lay preacher. I have noticed looking at the Censuses for Pinxton there are quite a few with the surname Shooter.(Two families living close to one another in Slade Lane. If anyone knows of some of these people or have done research on them please let me know.I would really like to know more about these people. Kind Regards. Daniel.

my great granddad came from pinxton and seemed to own a fair amount of it according to a copy of his will dated 1883 his name being joseph albert straw.he also had 6 or 7 children one being my granddad named albert.i would be greatly interested in hearing from any relatives as we are very thin on the ground in sunny bedfordshire, i,e myself and 2 brothers.

Thomas Evans (farmer) was born to Thomas (farmer) and Mary Evans in Pinxton 1799. He married Mary Stenson 22-7-1819 in Pinxton. They died in Pinxton 1873 and 1876. On the birth entries for their numerous children the farm is caleed "Pinkston Farm" or Pinx.Street or Pinx.Town Street. Does anyone have any further information?

james & emily birch lived at talbot st, pinxton in 1900`s, they were born at stafford. james worked at brookhill colliery as a pit hostler. he was mentioned in a coal mine magazine for his long service to the mines, he died around 1958, emily died about 1944. they had 6 children jesse, jim, sid, thomas, elizabeth and emily. if anyone can remember any of these please get in touch. thank you
