red mail Doyle family of Newhall
I'm researching my gr gr grandfather William Doyle who was born in Newhall in 1826. His father was John Doyle possibly b 1800 and his mother was Ann b 1786. I don't know Ann's maiden name but she was born in Derbyshire so may have married John in Newhall. My mother told me the Doyle's originated from Cork Ireland. There was also a daughter Jane baptised in 1822 in Stapenhill but I can't find any trace of her later. William later settled in Wednesbury Staffordshire. I have found another family of Doyles in Wednesbry with links to Newhall and I am wondering if they are related. They are James Doyle b 1816 probably Ireland, his wife Jane b Wednesbury 1814 and daughters Ann b Newhall 1837, Mary b 1840, Sarah b 1844 and Ellen b 1848. Ann maried Thomas Bickley and has a niece Louisa Doyle b Newhall living with her in 1881 so there must have been a brother too. Does anyone know any of this family?

red mail can you solve a mystery?
Henry Ashley(1853-1930) used to keep the Queens Head pub(long since gone )in Newhall. He was my great grandfather. Rumour has it that he was the illegitimate son of the then Earl of Chesterfield who resided at Bretby Hall. Some of the family were later in the employ of the Chesterfields. I have been told that there were two other such sons; one was given the Chesterfield Arms and another Porcester Villas. Can you help?
