My father was badly wounded at Monte Cassino in January 1944. Identity Cards for me (aged 2), my mother and my father show that he was convalescing at 81 Station Road. during the summer of 1944. By the October we were back in the family home in Streatham SW16. My mother used to say the house was a requisitioned Rectory.Why Derby? Did Derby Hospital specialise in recovery from amputated limbs? Was No 81 used throughout the War as a convalescent house? John

I'm looking for information about Frances Isabella Causer born 1854 in Hanbury Staffordshire. She had an illigitimate son, (my grandfather) George Edwin Causer born about 1872, who was brought up by an aunt. Isabella was working as a servant somewhere in Staffordshire. In the 1881 census she was working as an attendant at Derby Lunatic Asylum in Mickleover, aged 26. I can't find any trace of her after that. Please can anyone help?
