red mail Burns Henry Street Cleator moor 1871-1881
I have found that my Great Grandfather William Burns born 1845 ish, married to Catherine born 1849 ish, ( both born in Ireland) lived in Henry Street, and "Cumberford Court" Cleator Moor between 1871 and 1881 according to the census for these years. After having 8 children Frank (or Frances) born in Ireland in 1866 and the 7 other children born in Cleator Moor. Rebecca born 1869, Mary 1871, Martha 1874,James 1875 my Grandfather William jnr born 1877, Elizabeth 1879 and Catherine 1880. They were all Roman Catholics. I would love to know how I can find out what part of Ireland my Great Grandparents came from? My Grandfather married Hannah Curran in 1911 in Newcastle upon Tyne. I can't find any reference (yet) where the other members of the family went? Would it be worth contacting the Roman Catholic church of St Mary's in Cleator Moor to find out if they have any records of the Irish in Cleator Moor and where they arrived from in Ireland?? Most of the men in the family worked in the Iron Ore mines. I have still got a lot of research to do, but I've come to a brick wall as far as finding where in Ireland they came from? Any advice would be most appreciated

Head of family was Thomas, 1st wife Johana (sp?) died there between 1871-1875; 2nd wife Julia married there between 1875-1881. I have dates on all the children as well. We're specifically trying to find out what county in Ireland the family is from. We believe Thomas and Johana came to Cleator Moor between 1855 and 1862 as the first 3 children were born in Ireland and all following children were born in Cleator Moor. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
