My relative Frances Bowman appears on the 1841 census with a family called Armstrong. I believe Nancy/Ann Armstrong is her daughter and my 3rd great grandmother. Has anyone any idea of Frances maiden name or who she married?

red mail Kirkpatrick in Alston, Garrigill & Cumwhitton
ALL the Kirkpatricks in these three villages, throughout the 18th C and 19th until the end of Lead-mining, appear to be my relatives. Is that the case for anyone reading this entry. Some went to Carlisle, while my immediate forbears came to Lancashire - see my entry for Little Lever and Ainsworth. The surnames Noble, Barren, Shield, White, Hoden, Vipond, and Gargate are significant to this time in Cumberland. I really seek the origins of George Kirkpatrick (ca 1665) who married Eleanor (Elenor) Noble at Arthuret in 1695. I guess that this may have been a"run-away" marriage OUT of Scotland.
