red mail ROWE/SARA/BYAM
My great great great great grandfather, Richard Rowe was born in St Gluvias in 1756, the son of Mary Rowe of Wendron. In 1778 he married Margaret Sara and was then pressganged into the Royal Navy.He had several children, lived in Tregony following the end of his naval career- and in 1801 was found guilty of forgery and executed. After the trial it was found that in March 1801 he had married bigamously - to a Caroline Grace Byam in Plymouth! Although I have researched this case (and am happy to share with fellow descendants), I have never been able to find any detail of Caroline Grace Byam. I would be grateful for any information that anyone may have on this person.
