Richard Rose served as a warrant officer/gunner in the British Navy 1793 - 1811. In a muster on the ship 'Suffolk' in 1793 he gave his place of birth as Penzance. That would have been about 1762. red mail Looking for Thomas Ellis
I am looking for my great great grandfather or family members. Thomas Ford Ellis (son of Thomas Leslie Ellis and Violet Ford) is my father (d June, 1992). Thomas Leslie Ellis came to Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Negaunee) with his father and motherand I believe maybe one of his 6 sisters. I believe his father's name was also Thomas Ellis, although what the middle names might have been, I don't know. There seems to be a tradition of the men's first names being Thomas and the middle name beingthe mother's maiden name (with the exception of my brother). I'm not sure that this was always true though. Would anyone have any ideas where I might begin searching? Thank you and have a great day!!
