GEORGE HOLMAN
George Holman was my great-great grandfather, born in Egloskerry in 1815 and died sometime between 1881 and 1891. He married Betsy Smith who was born 1820 in Laneast. They married in Altarnun. I'm trying to find out who George Holman's parents were and other members of his family. There are other Holman's listed in Egloskerry, presumably related. If anyone has any info I'd be really grateful Sue

red mail Searle Families
Searles lived in Egloskerry from the earliest 1700s through the 1891 census. Zechariah Searle was the patriarch and his name was used multiple times there through several generations. Dozens of Searles were christened and married in the parish. Several of them were buried in the village churchyard. My direct Searle ancestor moved to Stoke Damerel, Devon County and his son came to the United States in 1808. I am willing to share information on this family and the parish in general. Also am interested in other Searle families from the other parishes in the Launceston Registration District.
