red mail Noonan/Nunan ancestors???
After 12 months of serious searching I have been unable to find any connections to Doonbeg Village except that my great, great grandfather Sinon Nunan, was supposedly born there in 1820ish. His parents are listed as Timothy Nunan and Honora Killeen. It is said he attended Dublin University for a time but had to leave the due to being mixed up in some protest. Apparently he planned to go to the American goldfields but ended up in the Ballarat goldfields in Australia. He married Margaret Cahill at St.Francis' Church, Melbourne, Australia on 8-9-1853. Margaret was from County Clare Ireland and her parents are listed as Patrick Cahill and Mary Sullivan. Sinon died 15-3-1905 and Margaret in 1912 both buried in Charlton, Victoria Australia. If someone has a connection to a Nunan/Noonan from County Clare in the early 1800's I would love to hear about it. Michelle

red mail Fitzpatrick-O'Connor- McNamara
Any information on the O'Connor- Fitzpatrick family in the parish od Clarecastle residing in the townlands known as Ballyea.my GGG Grandmother Anne O'Connor has a relation to a Bridget married Matthew/Mathias Fitzpatrick prior to 1-1840 as they had their 1st known child Bridget November 6th 1840, next would be Catherine"Kate" 1-10-1843, Anne 9-5-1845 may have married a Michael Maher and Ellen 11-15-1849. The family was still living in Clarecastle Parish as of 1880 when Catherine married John McNamara that September. I thought John was to be born about 1858 as I previosly thought that Kate was born in January 1854 from a 1900 US Census but as Kate was found to be much older I am not sure if John would be only 4 years younger or possibly 14, his father is a John also and I think that John( ggg grandfather ) may have a brother James and the name Patrick could be prevalent to any of these families as John and Kate's only child was named John Patrick b. 1883 NYC.

I have a gt gt gt grandfather who was (it seems) born in County Clare in 1790. It is possible his parents' names were William Crowe and Catherine Howard. He got married to an Eleanor Hayes in 1809 in Lisson Green, London. He was in the 73rd Regiment that went to Sydney in 1810. He stayed in the colony - taking up land at a place called Appin. One of his sons, James, created something of a pastoral empire. Does this William Crowe fit into any know County Clare Crowe family histories? Cheers Trish
