My 2x g grandfather was John Wingate, he came to Hoylake in the 1850's. He married Emily Amelia Jones in Sept 1860. He was a Coast Guard originally born in Cohb in Ireland in 1830. In the 1841 census he is living with his dad also John Wingate in St. Agnes Isle of White, He had a brother George. I'm wondering if anyone has any information about him and his life in Hoylake, or anything about the Wingate family.

I am looking for ancestors of Joseph Stanton Armitage, b. 1863, married to Annie Morley, born 1864. They had 10 children: James, Edith Elizabeth, Frank, Emeline, Lucy, Joseph, Irene, Ada, Ann and Lillian. Joseph and Annie came to the United States. My grandmother, Emeline,was married to William Jones from Churton in 1918 and came to the United States shortly after.

I am trying to research the family of Samuel Davies ,carpenter, of Hoylake Cheshire. He died in 1914. He married Eleanor Agnes Tallon of Windermere. They had 5 children--Samuel Joseph, Ann (Annie) Eleanor Agnes, Elizabeth (Bess) and Jack. All children except Bess emigranted to Canada in the early 1900's. Searching for Coopers. I have gone back as far as 1840 - when they lived in Back Sea View, Hoose. Hoose was the old name for Hoylake. My oldest ancestor at this time was a Fisherman, called Thomas Cooper. My Grandmother was a Trueman from Hoylake andher line has been traced back to the 1200s I believe.
