red mail Monks Coppenhall - Albert Bailey
My father Albert Bailey was born in September 1909 at 52 Samuel Street Monks Coppenhall. He arrived in London in 1911 (I think) and was brought up by James Gray Morris and his wife Eliza (nee Hayward), cannot remember when James was born but he came from Swansea. Eliza was born in 1876 in Chelsea in London. Dad's Mum was Florence Bailey and unmarried, I know nothing of her but would love to know who she was and maybe get in touch with some relatives. David

red mail Harry Barker of Mablins Lane
Just let me say for those who may not know that there were two COPPENHALLS in Cheshire - 'Monks Coppenhall' and 'Church Coppenhall'- both were absorbed into Crewe. Henry ('Harry') Barker married Eliza Handley and they lived at 23 Mablins lane, Coppenhall. They had 5 children - Ethel, Evelyn, Annie, Alice and Hilda Mary. Harry was illegitimate and his mother Emma Barker - so family legend has it - was made pregnant by someone at the farm where she was 'in service'. Emma eventually married James Barnes who, my mother used to say, 'took Harry in and brought him up as if he were his own.' Any links?
