Looking for details of John James Carrolan. Born c1835 County Cavan. Father - Charles Carrolan. Mother - Bridget Flinn. Arrived Australia c1860. Married Ann Carolin 23 Jun 1856 at Dundee, Scotland. Ann was born 1836 County Clare. Her parents were Joseph Carolin & Bridget Dempsey. 1 child I know of in Ireland - Mary. She died in Ireland. This information is gleaned from marriage certificate in Scotland and death certificates in Australia. I have no idea of parish but they were Roman Catholic. Anyone else related or searching for this family? Any ideas how I might find the necessary records? Any assistance would be most gratefully received. Lesley

Looking for info about my great-great grandparents, Thomas & Eliza PARKER. According to their gravestones, both were natives of County Cavan. Thomas was likely born in 1813. Eliza (maiden name unknown) was likely born on 8 August, 1820. They lived on Navy Island in the Niagara River and are buried in Holy Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery in Chippawa, Ontario, Canada. I am looking for any information on James Muldoon (1795 - 1857) and his wife Sarah Muldoon. They had a son James Muldoon born in County Cavan in either 1833 or 1840. He married Mary Muldoon (nee Smith) and they had several children before migrating to Australia aboard the "Southesk" in 1878. Any information on the family in Ireland appreciated.

James McMahon, was allegedly born in Butlers Bridge, County Cavan around 1857 but I cannot find the birth or census details for him and his Irish family! He was my Paternal Great Grandfather James McMahon was a Tailor by trade who joined the Army and was noted on his children's certificates as a Tailor, then Tailor - Worker Army Pensioner on Census . But there is no sign of him or the family in 1901, but they show again in 1911 in Aldershot, then after the 1911 census which showed him in Aldershot, Farnham, Hampshire - ie; near the Army Camp, nothing again. He married Phillis Emma Sampson in Brighton, Sussex in 1885 (when or why he moved to Sussex I have no idea) and according to his Marriage Certificate, his father was John McMahon - no further details for John or his wife! My Grandfather George Albert Allen (Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards)and James daughter Phillis Mary Hannah McMahon (born UK) were married in India in 1922 and James son James Sampson McMahon (born UK) and his wife were also married in India in 1921 so Army links again! In 1930 James Widow was residing in UK with daughter Phillis Mary Hannah and Son-in-law George and family. I have no idea when James and his parents? moved to the UK or when he died? or his mother's name? or further parents details? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas McMANUS and Bridget CALLAGHAN (spelling?)of Cavan are known to have had at least 4 children born in Cavan (parish not known): Hugh McManus b. abt 1839, Ellen McManus b. abt 1840,Mary McManus b. abt 1847 and Ann McManus b. abt 1848. I know about these children because they all migrated to Australia. It is not known exactly when Ellen arrived in Australia, but she married in South Australia in 1857 and settled in New South Wales in abt 1860. Hugh and his wife Elizabeth O'Donnell and 2 children arrived in NSW in 1884. Other McManus family settled in South Australia but I do not have any details about them. Looking for any links or info about this family. I know nothing about Bridget Callaghan or her ancestors.

looking for information on Owen Kelly, born about 1840 in Co Cavan, possibly around Annagh or Redhill area, married an Ann Mcguire not sure when or where though, was in the Cavan Militia- then the 10th Regt of foot (later the Lincolnshire Regt) eventually settled in Lincoln, Lincs, England, but I think he returned to Ireland for a short while, the only sibling that was born in Ireland was Mary Kelly born 1882/1883, however they were back and living in Lincoln by 1885, any help very much appreciated.

Owen Daly tried in Co.Cavan 1839. Sentenced to life as convict in Australia and transported. His father Edward Daley (as on appeal letter) but Owen Daly on trial paper held land in Collops near Kingscourt at time. Therefore unsure of birth county. Want to find his family details from back in Ireland before transportation ie. mother, siblings etc. Been looking for near on 30 years from Australia! Any help, no matter how small is a bonus!

Apparently a monument of James Fitzpatrick "The Gympie Miner" somewhere about County Cavan, maybe cemetry. James was buried in Belturbet. Michael Fitzpatrick married an Agnes McCullough in Gympie Australia. Agnes McCullough was born in Glasgow but parents (Charles McCullough and Mary McLachlan) died and she was raised by her aunt (possible married name of Hayes), possibly in County Cavan.

They emigrated to Canada and had 11 children, all born in Ontario: Catherine born 1846, Margaret 1848, James 1851, John 1853, Jane 1855, William Edward 1855,Thomas 1857, Robinson 1860, Robert Henry 1862, Elisabeth Emily 1865 & Edwin born 1867. Margaret Robinson's mother was also Margaret born 1797. Any information on John Brownlee or Margaret Robinson would be much appreciated.

Robert Henry b.1787 and "Lady" Mary Ann Graham b.1791-both places of birth unknown, but lived in Co. Cavan after marriage and had six sons who were Irish born. All but Robert emigrated to Huron County, Ontario in 1838-1840(some maybe later).Robert Henry died at Enniskillen, Ireland in 1858, at age 71 but I have no proof of burial place. Looking for his burial place, plus the townland they lived in from 1825 to 1838-1840.
