G/G/Grandfather
My above relation resided at Glynllocke Farm about 1851. Thought to extend to 95 acres. Near (in) Llanfihangel ar arth. John Thomas b c1825 was married to Mary b c1825. Children recorded are John 1842? David 1844 Evan 1846 Thomas 1848. Would like to hear from anyone, who has any knowledge of this area, farm or family
Stephens Llanfihangel ar Arth
I descend from a line of five consecutive Daniel Stephens'. The early years are also more confusing as most of the middle names of the children have been adopted from the fathers Christian name of 'Daniel'. I am interested to compare results from any one who has researched this line. Daniel Stephens, Lodge, Llanfihangel ar Arth b. 1808, he married Anne Williams in 1835, an earlier brother of the same name died in 1806, Daniel and Anne's grave stone is at Llanfihangel Church, several of his brothers and sisters went to Salt Lake City he die in 1898. Daniel was the son of Daniel Stephens and Anne Phillips John of Blaenpant, Llanfihangel ar Arth, Daniel b.1779, m. 1797, d.1819, their grave stone is also at Llanfihangel ar Arth Church. Daniel was the son of Daniel Stephens and Mary ( Molly ) Thomas married at Llanfihangel ar Arth. Daniel b. 1752 and m. 1759. There is only one possible contender at Llanfihangel ar Arth BT's for their parents being David Stephens and Margaretta Francis who married in the year of 1720 and was probably born in the late sixteen hundreds. Any information on the above tree would be gratefully received.
Evan Thomas
My G/Grandfather Evan Thomas a farmers son was born in this area in 1845/6 at Clynylloche Farm, we think the village was Llanfihangel-ar -arth. Evan worked as a lead miner in Gwnws Llanilar Cardiganshire. Here he married Margaret Edwards 1850 from Penlan Isaf farm Gwnws. They lived at Gwarallt. From here the family moved to the Rhondda Valley to work in the coal mines. Would love to know more about his wife Margaret who may have died before the family moved.
