Recent information from my 6x removed cousin in France tells me that My Aunt Florence Victoria Birch, nee Arnull originally from Newmarket, died in Levallois Perret, France on August 5th 1957. She was married to a Mr Birch ,they had one daughter Victoria who married a Mr Swain ,they had two children,Twins Stanley and Noreen, Noreen was killed by a motorbike aged about 3 years. The grave in Chantilly has been built by an Albert Swain, and the latest deaths listed are 1944,1981,1998 but I don't know who these are for. I would like to add the Birch Swain, NIcholson family to my family tree. if anyone can help me to put the puzzle pieces together thank you.

red mail Soldier on Horseback.
My father Robert James MASON born Oct 1907 in Newmarket. He was in the Military in India to the best of my knowledge from when he was about 20 to 27 years old . I am trying to find out who he would have been out there with and for what purpose. Somewhere along the line the North West Frontier is in the back of my mind. I have a lovely picture of him on horseback in full dress uniform, ready for parade at a Barracks, but I don't know where this is either. If anyone can enlighten me as to why he would have been in India at this time. Would you please let me know.
Barbara Kathleen Marcia Wells ,was born 14th August 1938. her mother and father it would appear were both with her at that time,.In 1939 she and a brother were put in a home. John Wells in 1947 was working as Railway Carriage Cleaner, living in Pimlico. John Wells preached at Hyde park Corner.Known as Bible Jack . No death record of Violet Amelia Wells had been found ,but we are told John Wells marries again. Maybe Violet Amelia remarried too? Bu t this story goes back to 5th January 1929 when John Wells is shown to be a Widower aged 36 years working as a window cleaner Living at 216 Camberwell Grove Peckham London, with him his partner to be his wife is Violet Amelia Dorrett , it states on Marriage Certificate that she is 27 .This was incorrect as she was born in 1897 making her 32 years old. His Father is George Wells(dec) a harness maker, and Violets Father a Grocer by the name of Bertram Dorrett. We traced the births of 5 children born to" Wells" with mother listed as"Dorrett" These births are for Alan L V Wells born 1931 Chelsea, Cyril C.S. Wells born 1933 Kensington, Margaret Rose Wells born 1935 Paddington, Marcus John Wells born 1937, and lastly Barbara as mentioned above August 14th 1938. Where are they now, Marcus as we know was either adopted or fostered and was taken away leaving Barbara on her own until a lady adopted her. She was told she would be called Barbara Gibson. This is the nameI knew her by at school. Her brother Marcus John, she knew as Bobby visited her a couple of times but has since vanished. I have found a relative for Margaret Rose, but she remains by choice in the private . I have tried making contact, but sadly no-one wanted to meet a long lost cousin. Now Barbara is in her mid 70's, she is very anxious to find her lost siblings ,and their families, if only to say hello. Searching for them we seem to hit on brick walls. Please if you are a member of this family, and you can you contact me , I am her friend and would just love to be able to make this wish come true for Barbara before it is out of yours or my hands.MC

red mail Barnados Children to Canada 1902 on the New England
Having found some of my lost boys on the Shipping list for the ship New England going to Boston in July 1902.Of which there are several pages. It occured to me that other lost children may also be on this list. If you have hit a brick wall for a lost child it might just answer the question where they vanished too. As this list is not available to all, I wondered if I could perhaps help to trace a child/children for others who are unable to make a connection. My own ancestors lost children were found on this vessel, one had died ,but the other went on to raise a family in Canada.
