red mail Hitche, Hitch, Hytche
I have been researching the Hitch family of Melbourn from 1507 to 1670, and Stepney east London after this time until 1882, when my grandparents emmigrated to Western Australia. My family of Hitch reaches back to a John Hitch who married Mary (family name unknown). I have not been able to find their marriage but it would be about 1635 in All Saints Church Melbourn Cambridgeshire. From the earliest times the Hitch family were farmers and according to British History Online, were landowners in Melbourn in the 1400s. I would like to make contact with others with same family interest in Melbourn as we are all connected. I am willing to share my information. Tresna.

red mail THE RED COW
This ale house was purchased by my Gt Grandparents James and Sarah LUMLEY (also known as HOLMES)after 1901. I am anxious to establish exactly when they lived in Melbourn - I suspect it was between 1901 and 1937. They moved back to London in the late 1930's. If anyone can help me establish a time-line for their move to Melbourn, I'd be most appreciative. Angela
