Hi i have 2 stephen fishers 1 born 1780 and his father stephen who married a mary surname unknown and second marriage to ann harrup ,dont know where but stephen was a tinker or cutler or knife grinder so i take it they were gypsys i think there is a connection with the smith and lee families but where were these stephens baptised all children were baptisted in adstock stephen the son traveled to bushey and stayed there but died in buckingham workhouse thank you

Son of Anthony Lemming born abt 1821 and a wheelwright by Occupation who died 1881 in Amersham. William's wife was Emily Vass (born abt 1850 in Clapham Surrey). Their children were William, Rose Emily, Alfred, Albert, Clara, George & Edith. The children were born in either Middlsex or London. I am looking into the Bierton Surname of Aston Abbotts Buckinghamshire. I have just come across a newspaper artical of Edith Gertrude Bierton born about 1906 died aged 55 years, single woman, house keeper to a local Doctor by the name of Pearson (Aylesbury), they appear to have got a faulty electric Kettle which poor (Gertrude) as she was known, got a scewer and tried to mend. She was electrocuted. Her Funeral took place according to burial register Aston Abbotts on the 29th April 1961 age 55years, she was sister to Arthur J. Bierton of Aston Abbotts, he identified her. Locals remember a Jim Bierton, who died about 20 years ago, and think that Edith Gertrude was his sister.

Martha b.1852, daughter of James and Phillis (nee KENT) BIERTON, moved to Sheffield where she married John HOWE from Bincombe, Dorset. Thomas and Philis are mispelled Biceton on the Sheffield 1881 census. There are stories of the first James Bierton who was a foundling left at the entrance of Bierton Parish church with a wad of money in his basket. Has anyone else heard this tale? My gt. grandfather George Wright was born to William the miller of Hastoe, Tring about 1836 - no baptism found. He married Elizabeth Bishop at New Mill Chapel, Tring in 1859. She was born in Cholesbury where her father was Innholder of the Queens Head. They had five sons and four daughters. All the sons emigrated - two to Canada and three to the USA. All the daughters remained in England but moved away from the Tring area. A family story has it that at one time George worked as a coachman for the Rothschild's at Tring Park, but I have not been able to confirm this yet. I have proved that he owned the White Lion at Aston Clinton in 1891. Any information welcome.

William appears on the 1901 census with his family (parents George W and Elizabeth A) and the story passed down through the family is that he emigrated to Saskatoon in Canada.. I do have a photo of him in army uniform with I presume his wife and daughters but can find no trace otherwise Does anyone have any info.. it wuld be appreciated

Hello I'm researching some of my relatives named Victor William and Phyllis Margaret Jones who lived at 1 Lady Dodds Cottages in Ellesborough. They certainly lived there in the early 1980s as William died in 1982 with his death certificate showing that to be their address. Phyllis died in 2006 long having moved into a nursing home. Does anyone please have any knowledge of these people or even of the address or area. Victor was a handyman. If anyone knows where or for who he worked it would be useful too. Thanks
