Am looking for my G Grandmother Emily Goom, eldest daughter of Thomas Goom and Elizabeth Eiles born 12 October 1866. Emily was one of 12 children. She married John Hale in 1886 in Cookham, Maidenhead and gave birth to son John H. in 1888 in New York City, U.S.A. Emily gave birth to 4 more children in and around Brighton, U.K.; Florence (my grandmother) b14 November 1890, Kate b26 May 1892, Frank Harry b5 September 1895, Harry Frank b13 August 1896, and then married their father Frank Harry Lewis on 24 December 1899. This marriage was dissolved on 23 February 1903; to wit, Emily and son John H. disappeared from the face of the earth. Any information regarding Emily and John H. would be greatly appreciated, and reciprocated.

Sophia Beman born 1852 in Bray but parents may have originated in Farnham Royal. Married William Mayers in 1872 in Cookham with children Annie, Matha, Emily, William J D, Louis Napolean (my grandfather), Philip, Mary, Victoria, Primrose and May. William and all three sons were house painters and sign writers and they had a shop in Bridge Street Maidenhead. Sophia's parents were possibly Frederick and Mary Beman. Looking for information on William Mayers born Bray, Berks in 1851 and married to Sophia Beman in 1872 after which they had three sons and seven daughters. He, and his three sons, William, Louis, and Philip were all house painters by trade and they also painted pub signs. They had a shop at 23/25 Bridge Street, Maidenhead. Louis was my grandfather and any information about the family will be most welcome.
