red mail Porter Family in Riseley
I'm looking for any information relating to my PORTER family, residing in Risely from about 1775 onwards. I have some information about William Porter (I believe his parents where John and Elizabeth - nee Crick) who married Mary Mitchell in 1811. William & Mary had 10 children, but I have had very little success in finding any information about them - the majority of the children do not appear on any Census. The exeptions are Barzilia, who married Sophia Flavell in 1843 and I think they emigrated to Australia, and William who married Catherine Walker in 1853 who went on to have 9 Children. I would love to hear from anyone who has any links to this family.
red mail Warwick

George Roberts is my great-great-great-grandfather. He was born in Riseley in about 1819. His wifes name was Jane and she was born in Chorston, Bedfordshire. George was an agricultural labourer and in 1881 lived in the High Street, Riseley. His daughter Elizabeth married George HANCOCK. He had a son, John H Roberts at least one grandson, Alfred, who was living with him at the time of the 1881 census. Alfred's father may be another son who was either dead or absent at this time as John wasunmarried in 1881 and could not be Alfred's father.
