I am trying to find birth/marriage details of my grandfather surname HILLIER. He died Southampton April 1933 aged 49 and his death certificate says Hubert John HILLIER. My father's birth certificate says his name was Herbert HILLIER. All I know is he was born around 1884 and believed to have come from the Luton area to Eastleigh, Hants, he was a builder by trade but was also a church organist and taught piano. He may have been known as Bert, hence the variations on the two certificates I have, so any variation is possible,i.e.Albert, Herbert, Hubert, Bertie etc.
