red mail Marion S. McGregor (Green)
Seeking any info on Marion S. McGregor (Green). I believe she was born in Ineskale, Arglyeshire bat. 1831. I don't know when she died, and the info I have is it was in Weaver, St. Moffats Land (?) Marion was my Great Grandmother and I know next to nothing about her, so any info is greatly appreciated! (Especially who her parents might have been.) Thank you!
red mail William Morton Green
Seeking any info on William Morton Green. I believe he was born in Glasgow bat. 1822, and died in Newton on Ayr about 1912. Employed by the railroad. Married to Marion S. McGregor. William was my Great-Grandfather. Any info is greatly appreciated! (Especially who his parents might have been.) Thank you!
red mail Samuel Banner
My ancestor Samuel Banner lived in Newton in 1877 as his son John was born there in May of that year. Samuel came from Sunderland and returned there afterwards. He was a mechanical engineer and his son's birth record shows that he was working at the docks. Can anyone give me information on why Samuel may have been working there? The family lived in New Road
red mail Workman
I am looking for information about Samuel Workman c1777 and Betty McLean c1779 both from Newton On Ayr. Also anything about their children: Mary 1803, John 1805, Samuel 1807 and especially Robert Workman c1809 who married Margaret McClennan/d from monkton.
red mail Rae / Neil / McNeil
I have a Susan Neil RAE born about 1853 in Newton on Ayr who married a Robert KENNEDY from Methlick in 1878 in Glasgow. In her marriage register entry, her father is listed as Alexander RAE and her mother Annie NEIL. I believe the surname here should be McNeil and that the mother is actually Rosanna McNEIL. Alexander RAE and Rosanna McNEIL were married in 1851 in Newton on Ayr. Rosanna's parents could have been James McNEIL and Susanna ???? Can anyone help clear up any of my brick wall. Cheers, Ron from the land down under.
red mail Andrew Ingram
I'm trying to find out what happened to Andrew Ingram. He was born 14 February 1830 in Tarbolton. He became one of the first photographers in Ayr. His father, William, was a watchmaker. He had two brothers, John and William and a sister, Jane, knownas Jeanie. His brother William also became a watchmaker. I have letters written by Jeanie where he is mentioned but have no news of him since Jeanie left for London in 1848.
