They had at least 13 children, Elizabeth, Helen Jean , David, Mary, Janet, Helen, Anne, Georgina Jemima, Agnes, Hugh and Marion Campbell Boyd, all born Monkton between 1836 - 1863. Their son Alexander born 1795 married Agnes Hunter born 1799. Her parents were William Hunter born 1729 in Midtown and Margaret MacClatchie c 1745.
Mc(C)Latchie or McLatchie
Hi, through the help of some kind relatives I have some information on Thomas Mc(C)latchie who married Mary YOUNG and whose children (James 1798) and Jannet (1793) were born in Monkton but the family seem to have resided in and around Craigie in later generations, Jannet died there in 1870, after having married Andrew CALDWELL. Are there any Mc(C)latchies still in the Monkton area I wonder? More than collecting names and dates, I'd like to find out more about their lives and the history of the village.
